Dave Bain

Author & psychotherapist

Dave Bain has a Diploma and MA in psychotherapy. He has worked in the support sector for over seventeen years as a therapist, coordinator, supervisor and clinical manager at The Maytree Respite Centre (suicide), One in Four (child sexual abuse) and HELP Counselling (low cost therapy services). Currently, he is a member of staff at the CCPE (the Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy Education),as a supervisor, facilitator and marker, working with Diploma and MA students. He also has a private practice and is a supervisor at the Centre for Better Health, a low-cost counselling service.

In 2015, he appeared in the BBC documentary ‘Suicide and me” where he was interviewed by (pop star) Professor Green about working with suicidal clients at the Maytree Respite Centre. 

Dave is also a writer/director, and has staged three musicals about mental health through his production company, Skitzoid Productions: GAME OVER (2017/2018), Dissociated (2019) and Last Sales Conference of the Apocalypse (2022), raising over £5000 for mental health charities across forty performances.
